I bolted mine to the floor - but it's only a Solo II car. A road race car
might be different. I have two 25-ish pound Lead bricks bolted through the
floor but next to the frame tubes.  No inspector has complained, and I can
always secure them to the frame tubes if I must - although drilling though 3"
of lead is a chore.  Both bricks are behind the front wheels and pedal
assmeblies - it worked well on the scales.  I also have another 12-15 lbs of
lead sheet on the floor between the pedals and the master cyclinders (the '89
Red Devil has 12-ish inch threaded rods between the pedals and the cyclinders.
