[F500] Engines et all

I agree. It certainly sounds like the 493 is the engine for the future and
that being the case let's get it on with it. I still think the 494 RAVE
should also be allowed and since it sounds like a number of the front
runners may be using "cheater" 494 motors now with the unregulated
mix-and-match system from the RAVE motor, etc... and we are not currently
doing active policing on that front what does it matter then if the 494
RAVE is allowed?
Since rumor (note: I said RUMOR) has it that the 493 makes considerably
more HP than both the 494, 494 RAVE and even a mix and match 494 the front
runners will all go to that motor anyway. Since the 493 does not appear to
have a supply of mix and match parts today let's at least get an approved
parts list for the 493 so that any mix and match issue is addressed for the
future.
As most of you know I have an old Red Devil (T-82) with a Kawi and I can
certainly say that I have been holding off "upgrading" until the motor
issue is resolved. I am not planning on putting a Rotax in the current car
but getting a "newer" car (KBS Mk 7, etc...) . I can obtain a 494 RAVE from
a local supplier (not an easy thing to do here in the desert Southwest and
he has two of them!), but I am not going to do that if the RAVE is not
going to be allowed and with the debate going on about the 493 it would
make sense to pay the few more dimes to get that motor rather than a 494
RAVE anyway.
Allowing the 494 RAVE may not help the guys looking to win the Runoffs
(they will go to the 493) but it would help the guys running Regionals with
a smaller budget.
