[F500] AMW engines

I'm new to F500s last year was the first time I even knew the class
existed. My Zink has a kaw 440 in it and I'm looking for a competitive
motor. I've been following the 493/494/raving debate here with interest,
but right now, what looks like a good deal on a AMW motor is in the F500
classifieds. I've heard bad things about the AMW, but nothing specific. Is
any AMW motor evil and not to be touched or was it just certain models?
I've looked in the archives, but there's too much info there. Can one you
folks experienced with AMW shine some light on this for me?
