[F500] Rotax conversion

Well, now that we have a Rotax I need some help figuring out what else is needed to make convert our '90 KBS Mk V.  The car is only being used for autocross and already has the 4-link suspension upgrade.

1. Does the frame need to be modified for the Rotax to fit?

2. What's the best exhaust pipe for solo?

3. What's the best y-pipe manifold?  Is this dictated by the pipe?

4. Can a Comet 4-Pro from an AMW be used on a 494?  Does it need to be modified to fit?

5. Do I need to make my own engine mounts or does someone already produce a kit for this conversion?

6. Anything else I should know?


I can hardly wait to get a nice reliable engine in our car so that we can focus on driving rather than rebuilding engines!
