No matter what method you used....if you are only getting 75 pounds on the
compression gauge it is time for a tope end rebuild....Pistons, Rings and
gaskets.....when you have it apart, check the Jug for wear in the piston
bore.

Richard,
I was cranking with both..
You said both plugs out.. I was checking one cyl..not both.. was I supposed
to check both at the same time? Not sure what the procedure is. I don't
have the manual for the check.
If it is true at 75.. what should I look for? what do you guys suggest
checking or changing?
Thanks
Phillip

Dave,
I never got my Kawasaki up that high. I found that cold engine seems to
give the higher pressure, but hot is how it runs, so I guess that would
be
the way to check compression.
Were you cranking with a recoil or electric ?
The Kaw shop manual says 90 LBS min and no more that 10% difference.
My engine typically run between 120 and 140. Anything less than 120 and
apart it came !
Richard
P.S. Remember to have your throttle wide open, both plugs out and the
on/off
switch OFF.
